Where in the World is....?!

This look reminds me of one of my all-time favorite childhood show character, Carmen Sandiego. My recurrent need for a new adventure may have something to do with that but, that's not the purpose of this post. For this look I started with a burgundy leather-look skirt. (I did fore-warn you of my love for burgundy this season) I had to take the skirt in, I purchased a 22-24 and it was too lose for my taste, I should have just went a size down when purchasing but it was out of stock. I paired it with my favorite denim top, which I wrap in front for a more form-fitting look. I layered it with a tan, pleather, moto jacket due to it being a lil' chilly, (Hey, Fall!) I chose my leopard print pumps as a wild card to add some texture to the look.  Yes, I'm a tall women and I love my high heels but I haven't had one complaint yet. :) lol

Denim with Wine!

Denim on Denim is a Fall Must-do!
You just can't go wrong when pairing them together. Please, tell me you have tried or will be trying this look this season? If not what are you waiting for? Any who, I wanted to give Fall a BIG "Welcome Back!" since it's finally starting to cool off here in Nashville and add a pop of color So, I completed the look with a pair of burgundy, over-the-knee boots and hat. Burgundy is such a beautiful color and it's definitely giving black a run for it's title in my closet. I'm sure it will be featured over and over again in the months to come. Remember, you were warned, lol.

What is/are your fave fall color(s)? Tell me what you think about the look

Rain or Shine!

Don’t you just love it when you have some really awesome plans but the weather just won't let you be great? That was almost my Saturday.

(aren't they some cutie's..lol)

The most important event on my list was taking my sweet girls to the ballet of Cinderella feat. the Nashville Symphony @ TPAC here in Nashville, TN. I think I was more excited than my girls to see the production. (I just love the arts!)
So, when it was time to get dressed, I realized that it was pretty dark outside to be 12-noon. So, I peeped outside and it had started to rain. Uggh, that definitely washed any efforts out of curling my hair. However, my wardrobe wasn't going to suffer.

Nothing says "Bring it on, Rain!" like a fierce, rain coat/jacket and this Nadia Clear Vinyl Jacket for Mynt1792 fit the bill. This jacket is sold out, as I got it a couple years ago. I don’t know why I have such a love for things that are transparent, it may be that I'm always needing clarity and understanding in life in general but, that is another subject entirely. (I can never stay on task..lol ) The vinyl is kind of stiff, as you could imagine but, it's seems to be more manageable the more I wear it. The jacket comes with an attachable hood and longer sleeves but I can't bend my arms with sleeves on and the hood is simply awkward but I haven't tried to work with it much. Continuing with the theme I paired the jacket with a mesh spot t-shirt which I layered over a black, midi, dress. To complete the look, I wore a pair of rugged bottom booties, I cannot express enough how much I looovvvee these booties. They are the most comfortable pair of boots I own, they are great for slick surfaces and they gave more of the edgier look I was going for. Hope you like the look :)

How do you dress for a rainy forecast?

Caramel Frappe w/ Coco Anyone?

A close friend of mine, (Hey, Diondra!!) told me this look reminded her of Caramel Frappe with chocolate drizzle and now I cannot shake the thought or the craving I now have for one. I'm really trying my best to resist the temptation and I'll let you know how that goes. But lets get on to the important stuff. Last fall I saw the shearling vest and wasn't quite sure how I'd incorporate it into my wardrobe being that I've never been much of a vest kinda girl! To add to that I've always found them to look a bit bulky which is the last thing I need. However, when I ran across this beauty on a late night Target run (please tell me I'm not the only one that has those..lol) I knew I had to give it a try. I slipped it on and fell in love. I didn't find it to feel or look bulky at all. Don't you just love it when you prove yourself wrong?! But, I do warn you this vest sheds like a bad bundle of weave. I hope its just to being new and will stop at some point.

As for the rest of the look, I have really been on a health kick. I've been trying to improve my life as a whole and one focus has been on losing weight. So, far I have lost 14lbs since 07.14.16 and I'm quite proud of myself. It's simply because I'm not doing anything special but getting up, out and active. A dear, friend of mine turned me on to hiking and it's been the source of my success. I love the outdoors, so I never feel like I'm working out, just enjoying nature. As a result, I've noticed subtle changes, my mid-section in particular. So, I thought I'd flaunt my small success just a tad with a tan crop top, staying with the cool tones of the vest. I paired it with a pair of denim boyfriend jeans and completed the look with a pair of pointed toe, stiletto heels. Let me know what you think of this look..

What a Bomber!!!

Fall, is that you?! I sure hope so because me and my leave out are so, so over this heat!! With the cooler weather creeping in I thought I'd start off by featuring a fav fall trend of mine that I purchased earlier this year via Dia&Co. the Bomber Jacket! The bomber will forever be a classic and I have had several over the years in the traditional waist length like this one here but when I received the longline version, I'll admit I almost sent it back, unsure as to how I would wear it. I'm so glad I kept it.  Versatility, I love a piece that I can be dress up or down and this piece is just that! Here are a few ways I'll be styling it this Fall season!!

OOTN: Androgynous Meets Me

My daughter's ballet company put on a production of the romantic opera, La Slyphide and let me just say that all the girls and boys did a wonderful job. I am amazed at how much talent each and every one of the students have. My little ballerina and her class had two roles; witches helper and Swedish maids. Words cannot express how proud of my daughter I am. She is her worst critic and sometimes her views of herself can have such a negative effect on her but, with dance its just the opposite. It seems as if ballet has become second nature to her. She executes every move with such grace and confidence. I'm so happy for but, enough about that lets move on to the meaning of this post, What I Wore! For this look I was inspired by this ad for Bebe in Elle magazine I saw months ago.

The androgynous look has always been an interest of mine but wasn't quite sure how I could use it for myself until I ran across this photo. My take is still quite feminine but, it has that same feel in my opinion. I decided to pair pinstripe pants with a black blazer instead of the reversed pair in the ad. I chose to add a pop of color using a vibrant shade of blue. It really compliments my skin tone and it's just a beautiful color. I took the look one step further by doing something I rarely ever do and that's by doing a smokey eye. I tend to shy away from this look being that my eyes are so small and them nearly closing when I smile. :( Nevertheless, I step out of my comfort zone and gave it a try anyhow. Success, me likey!  Let me know what you think!

2 Looks of a Happy Easter

While shopping at JC Penney a couple weeks ago I stumbled across these dresses. The fuchsia one I saw first on the lovely, Thamarr (simply stunning btw) of Musing of a Curvy Lady and had to have it for myself seeing as how wonderful she looked rocking hers. I didn't stop there though. I also found a "sister" dress much similar to the fuchsia one, in white that I couldn't part with either. So I got them both. I knew I wanted it for Easter but couldn't decide which one I'd like to wear so I tried them both on and made my choice on the white ensemble.

I love the fit and flare of the dresses. They are very form fitting and comfortable. They both get a A+ in my style book. Which one would you prefer to wear on this Resurrection Day?
